Help

Thursday, October 6, 2011

 Dear happiness,
I was looking for you
yesterday, I experienced sadness
believe me it's true..

Please come out now
I am not joking
I wanted to make a vow
here I am searching,

Will you appear?
Whole day I've been shouting
Why you didn't hear?
Now my voice is fading..

I am very tired,
I feel shortness of breath
Somebody fired!
An object passed on the sheath.

Oh the bullet, the bullet of the gun
the bullet hits me.
It's not fun, it's no fun
it's me, it's me!

I saw my self lying on the floor
blood scattered on the wall
the clock strikes at four,
I can't press the number call

I passed through my body
I came closer in front of it,
A blood sticks on my-ID
I notice every slow beat.

I shouted for help,
but no one can hear me.
So I used the blood of myself.
In order to help “me”.

The last ink,
HELP...
-written in blood.

Touch me and feel my warmth,
Hold me and hear the beating of my heart
Run your fingers through my soft skin
Rub me gently as you Open me Tenderly.

Remove every clothes that covers me,
The mask that hides all my pains- Tear them.
Slowly stare as you open me Tenderly
And feast on the nakedness of my soul.

Resist the temptation and do not cry
As your eyes laid sight on my dark side
Do not stop, do not fail – Just go and feel
The heat – the pain as you Open me Tenderly.

Isang Pagsasalaysay ng Karanasan

Monday, November 8, 2010

 at tampuhan.

Tula Lang

By: Marlon Alves
email: marlonalvesc@yahoo.com.ph
--------------------------------------

Noong una palang kitang nakita
ako sa iyoy tinamaan talaga
ngiti mo pa lang ulam na
sa akin ganda mot porma nangunguna

minsan man akoy makulit
damdamin ko naman ay malupit
kahit magkadang ipit ipit
ang puso mo pa rin ang syang aking bitbit

khit minsan ikay aking inaaway

sadya lamang talagang kulay koy madilim

dahil ngaun ko lang napag tanto
sadyang ganito lamang pala ako
hindi hayop, bagay kundi tao
isang taong lokoloko na pag dating sayo

kayat sana ay tanggapin and damdamin
tulad ng pagtanggap ng iba sa akin
kahit na akoy nakakatakot sa salamin
ikaw naman ay aking tunay na mamahalin

The Pretenders by Manuel Avenido

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

            to Rodrigo, the Greatest Pretender

He stands like a solid edifice
            and walks with a herd of martyrs;
From his mouth sprung scentless flowers
             of broken promises and prayers
Clothed in white and in innocence,
                            his eyes a pool of lust and fire;
Oh! Beware. Pretender he is –
Thou shan’t fall from thy fragile knees!

He lives in a golden mansion
and shakes thine hand in the street,
offers thou his cup of fortune,
                       drowns thou to thy eternal sleep;
Thou art lured by his gracious smile
                      nor the silver coins on his palm;
Oh! Beware. Pretender he is –
Thou shan’t long for his falsehood bliss!

                        He exudes pure magnificence
                  of beauty and perfect romance;
Thou hail him in thine dark altar
Through the hour of thy madness
                  Embrace his decorated life
                      A fool thou see in the mirror;
Oh! Beware. Pretender he is –
Thou shan’t wait for his deathly kiss!

He moves like a sculptured statue
but dances like a flower blown
                      Butterflies so tamed and deceived
                of his poisonous nectar juice;
Ladies, thou shall not be swindled
                     for he hath a heart same with yours;
Oh! Beware. Pretender he is –

Labyrinth by Manuel Avenido

to Leonila, with Love

Thou, like a whirlwind
    heading aimlessly
blown by the waves of time

I, Master of the Game
   molded thy fate,
      counted thy footsteps,
                  bedecked thee with darkness

With thy honeyed tongue
    of stripes and stars
                                      Nocturnal and restless
               for earthly promises

I, lulled thee with a path of roses
to that hazy avenue I escorted
like veins of a river thou take
        interminable, bewitched

         I, lulled thee with the
                                 beacon of tomorrow
    Yet shed fortress of uncertainty
  Dead end is
       but thy prize!

     Amongst many seeds sown
                                          in the bedrocks
                                      Washed off by the rains
   thou crawled in vain
in the face of this Earth

      Like the hand of time
                   encircling, cyclical
     The alien novena utterances
     sprung from thy turmoil mouth

                                     I, paved thy destination
          of mazes and mysteries
      The never-ending sojourn
         of chasing fortunes

     They deemed thee high
        in a pedestal
but the voice from thy bowels
           has sprung sighs of discontent

     Thou swayed amongst
       Those hays – withered!
        To the tempo of that
lazy dusk

A write-back poem to Robert Frost’s Dust of Snow.

The Crow
to Ricky, for all the wisdom

That big tree I fling
to fly with these dark-night wings
I shiver for some snow
and shower it down below.

An ice died frozen
never melts nor awakens
I bear this numbness
Hollow! No egg on my nest!

With my red round eyes
I see all the worlds are lies –
muds covered with ice,
so white, grant you with surprise!

Yet a stone so hard
to smash my heart apart
strike of a cottonball
I felt; so soft and small.

To be stoned to death
is way better to lose breath –
to gasp for that air
like fire less its flare.

Stay Still

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

How do you teach yourself?
To dance not with emotion?
How do you restrain your feet?
Glide with less passion?
Every opposition, how do you oppose?
Every release, how do you decrease?
Every struggle, how do you untie?
Every lock, how do you deny?
Every belief, fear could be the answer?
How do you justify?
A lie?
How do you get dissatisfied?
Every time you move?
Entangled with your groove?
When is the time?
When the end arrives?
Try and try and try?
How and why?

Into the Light

Into the light lets walk in where skin doesn't need resurfacing, translucent not opaque...
Into the light where we shine with everything, nothing more shinier than nothing...
Into the light might be happiness timelessly maintained...
Into the light we shout endlessly, releasing every decibel of sound our bodies are made of...
Into the light we see each other face to face, no one different from the other...
Into the light where purpose is purpose itself, working to create its own...
Into the light is where One love exists, not here where its gone....
Into the light...

From A Borrowed Night

Thursday, May 27, 2010

By Christian Ray Licen

--------------------------------------------

I cannot be as sweet as your smile tonight,
What will be left among the sugar-coated milky stars?
I cannot just speak with your lips drenched in silence;
Words have their reservation too.
I cannot just hold your calloused hands;
They too had built castles from the earth’s mouth.
Do you remember my litany of prayers?
Sort out your soiled clothes,
Do the laundry.
Make the bed-
Tidy the room; they were ripples
to your almost deafening ears.
When the roosters crowed, you were still
in Mango from an inebriated wanderlust.
You were one with the rain of excuses
And came back without a face but only soaked guilt!
Then I dried you back to sanity
There in your room where the clothesline of fiction
is hung with reality. No sun to dry it up.
I soon retired to the bed of oblivion.
After a long day’s toil-
The night was cold; the winds were harsh
And the moon was impaled and cowered by time
Until every second dripped a trickle of bloody tears-
I knew there was ‘us’
Because your dreams conspired mine.
Tonight, looking at your eyes gathering star dusts
There is only you and me
designed by grace
returned back to the universe
by Love and Forever.

The Mirage

by Christian Ray Licen
email: shakespeareinlove1988@yahoo.com
---------------------------------------------------------

For the love of poetry
there’s the rain.
Falling,
as my thoughts drip from the blades of the leaves,
impalpable on the sheets
Falling,
like blizzards by the glass panes
Your perfume breaking against the smell of sewage,
Sewage against the lumps of your sweat
forming cusps in my lips.
Falling
below the muted sun
trickling down
the spine of the trunk
between my cavity and your promise.
falling, rough on your skin,
again—
Fizzling.
falling, damp on the blanket
and again—
until every scratch in your back
reminds me of water.

"Because you left me for that stranger in the mall."

By Christian Ray Licen
email: shakespeareinlove1988@yahoo.com
--------------------------------------------------------

That gloomy morning
When the stars still align my view
Had I understood of reality.
Yes, I sneaked under your conscience
When you wandered in that bar
I could not imagine the thud against your voice
Which was powerless against the blitz.
How you apologized so quickly
When my words were fire to your ears
You called for the nth time
Just when I pulled my pillow.
I could not be any agreeable to my vindication
That the water in your hands gave in to my rage.
And seeing you left me for that stranger in that mall
I was contained as were the stars drenched in my blanket.
That morning never did any better
Than to wake up to the reality
That I have once lost you to my dreams.
