TINATAMAD na bumaba si Rovi mula sa sasakyan ng makitang nakaparada na ito sa harap ng safe house. Hindi niya alam kung bakit pero kinakabahan talaga siya ng bahagya sa napipintong paghaharap nilang muli ni Bobby. Ipinilig niya ang ulo para mawala ang alinlangan na ilang ulit ng sinusubukang kainin ang kanyang sistema.

‘Ano ka ba ? Hindi naman niya alam yung nangyari ah ?’’ pangungumbinsi ng isang bahagi ng kanyang isip.

Huminga siya ng malalim sabay lingon sa kasamang si Rick na tila malalim rin ang iniisip ng mga oras na iyon. May kung anong bumabagabag dito. Duda niya, tungkol na naman iyon sa kasong hawak nila. Masyadong matigas ang mga nahuli nilang tauhan ni Park Gyul Ho. Kahit anong gawin nilang paraan ng pagpapa-amin ay wala silang makuhang impormasyon sa mga ito.

Isinukbit niya sa balikat ang malaking bag na dala-dala saka ito inayang pumasok na. ‘Tol, mamaya na natin pag-isipan ng husto ang tungkol sa kaso. Magpahinga muna tayo.’’ Aniya sa kaibigan.

‘Mauna ka na ‘tol. Doon muna ako sa dagat.’’ Malamig na tugon nito saka tinalunton ang daan patungo sa dalampasigan.

‘Sige.’’ Sagot niya.

Prayer of an Abused Child

"Dear Mr. Jesus" is written by Richard Klender and popularized by Power Source, an American contemporary Christian musical group from Bedford Texas. 


Recorded in 1985, "Dear Mr. Jesus" featured group member Sharron Batts, then 6 years old, on lead vocals. The song appeared on Power Source album "Shelter from the Storm". It hit the radio stations on 1987 which is timely, as it came shortly  after the story of Elizabeth "Liza" Steinberg, a 6-year-old New York girl beaten to death by her adopted father Joel Steinberg in November 1987.


The lyrics of  "Dear Mr. Jesus"  deal with child  abuse and is sung from  the perspective of a little girl writing a letter to Jesus, expressing her concerns after seeing a news report about a "little girl beaten black and blue" by her parents. At the end of the song, the narrator concludes her letter by saying , "Please don 't tell my daddy, but my mommy hits me too."
